Dance of Awareness Facilitator Training

South East

Start:
24/09/21
End:
07/11/21

DoA is based on psychoanalytic theory and developmental psychology.

The story is of the ego individuating as I differentiate into who I am. Its also the story of the evolution of consciousness, the story of ‘becoming’. I am becoming more than my ego as we move from instinctual through egoic to transcendent.

The journey is of discovery. As I rediscover parts of myself that have been lost or forgotten, it makes space for freedom connection and creativity. Consciousness speaks as the body tells its story.

We attract participants looking for a robust training in working with embodiment and relationship, and are passionate about supporting you to become more deeply the therapist you already are.

Therapy as Play – online webinar
online

Online

Start:
18/06/21
End:
18/06/21

Play, like therapy, is a very serious business when done properly. What the two centrally have in common is the quality of ‘as-if” that things both are and aren’t as they seem. Entering this as-if space together, client and therapist are able to explore feelings and impulses that would otherwise be too dangerous and/or mysterious to entertain. We will explore how we can usefully bring in playfulness to help explore the spontaneous and creative aspects of living, enabling us to relax and let things happen

Stepping into Wild Mind, our Ecological Consciousness Webinar
online

Online

Start:
14/05/21
End:
14/05/21

In connecting to Wild Mind we step into our wildness, stepping into our ecological consciousness, connecting to the other-than-human.
Wild Mind is a meta skill, a way of being, an active meditation. When in Wild Mind we are resting in our embodiment, being aware of the whole of our experience. Paying attention to our clients facial expressions, the intonation of their voice, to the light dancing in the room, the cat at the window, and the tension in our stomach.

Embodied Relating Webinar
Online webinar

Online

Start:
16/04/21
End:
16/04/21

We will study the complex and subtle skills of connecting to and utilising our embodiment as a relational resource. The starting place for working relationally, is being with our own experience in the moment. Working in this way requires us to develop a practice of moment to moment awareness of our multi-channelled experiences. Paying attention to our emotions, internal sensations, thoughts, dreams and fantasies as information about the unfolding process between us and our clients.
10am-1pm

The Ground Beneath Our Feet - Body Psychotherapy Network online gathering
Online

Online

Start:
27/03/21
End:
27/03/21

Everyone is talking embodiment these days. But is some of it just that, talk? Is there a danger of embodiment becoming commodified – and identified with a comfortable white, Western, able-bodied, heteronormal experience? Whose embodiment is this anyway? Is it possible to find some solid ground?

The day will be structured around interaction rather than passive reception, with no invited speakers. In the morning there will be space for anyone to speak for a limited time, on any topic relevant to the conference theme or to BPN; this includes advertising workshops, which will take place in the afternoon. Anyone is welcome to propose a one hour workshop.

Therapy as a Practice of Truth webinar
online webinar

Online

Start:
26/03/21
End:
26/03/21

This webinar will present a view of therapy as a practical study of truth and its consequences, untruth and its consequences, and how to distinguish the two. The truth which therapy studies is not just rational but emotional. Exploring it teaches us that no truth is absolute – that truth is not singular but plural and contingent, and therefore subject to negotiation.
26th March 2021 - 10:30am-1pm

Erotic desire is a universal impulse and an essential ingredient of life. Without the fire, the playfulness and the energy of the erotic our lives can become deadened. Yet when the erotic enters the therapy room it can become deeply challenging for both client and therapist.

When clients become attracted to us, or we become attracted to them, our capacity to think and feel creatively and clinically can become compromised. This workshop seeks to resource practitioners to work with the erotic .
